Geert Wilders: The problem is Islam itself

Posted by jagoindia on October 20, 2008

Read the full rivetting speech by Wilders here Who lost Europe?

Our many problems with Islam cannot be explained by poverty, repression or the European colonial past, as the Left claims. Nor does it have anything to do with Palestinians or American troops in Iraq. The problem is Islam itself.

“Allow me to give you a brief Islam 101. The first thing you need to know about Islam is the importance of the book of the Quran. The Quran is Allah’s personal word, revealed by an angel to Mohammed, the prophet. This is where the trouble starts. Every word in the Quran is Allah’s word and therefore not open to discussion or interpretation. It is valid for every Muslim and for all times. Therefore, there is no such a thing as moderate Islam. Sure, there are a lot of moderate Muslims. But a moderate Islam is non-existent.

“The Quran calls for hatred, violence, submission, murder, and terrorism. The Quran calls for Muslims to kill non-Muslims, to terrorize non-Muslims and to fulfil their duty to wage war: violent jihad. Jihad is a duty for every Muslim, Islam is to rule the world — by the sword. The Quran is clearly anti-Semitic, describing Jews as monkeys and pigs.

“The second thing you need to know is the importance of Mohammed the prophet. His behaviour is an example to all Muslims and cannot be criticized. Now, if Mohammed had been a man of peace, let us say like Ghandi and Mother Theresa wrapped in one, there would be no problem. But Mohammed was a warlord, a mass murderer, a pedophile, and had several marriages — at the same time. Islamic tradition tells us how he fought in battles, how he had his enemies murdered and even had prisoners of war executed. Mohammed himself slaughtered the Jewish tribe of Banu Qurayza. He advised on matters of slavery, but never advised to liberate slaves. Islam has no other morality than the advancement of Islam. If it is good for Islam, it is good. If it is bad for Islam, it is bad. There is no gray area or other side.

“Quran as Allah’s own word and Mohammed as the perfect man are the two most important facets of Islam. Let no one fool you about Islam being a religion. Sure, it has a god, and a here-after, and 72 virgins. But in its essence Islam is a political ideology. It is a system that lays down detailed rules for society and the life of every person. Islam wants to dictate every aspect of life. Islam means ‘submission’. Islam is not compatible with freedom and democracy, because what it strives for is sharia. If you want to compare Islam to anything, compare it to communism or national-socialism, these are all totalitarian ideologies.

“This is what you need to know about Islam, in order to understand what is going on in Europe. For millions of Muslims the Quran and the live of Mohammed are not 14 centuries old, but are an everyday reality, an ideal, that guide every aspect of their lives. Now you know why Winston Churchill called Islam “the most retrograde force in the world”, and why he compared Mein Kampf to the Quran.”

Terror arrest in Kerala
October 20, 2008, JOHN MARY, http://www.telegraphindia.com
Thiruvananthapuram, Oct. 19: Police today arrested a labourer in Kerala for suspected terror links after his cellphone number was found in mobile phones of militants killed in Jammu and Kashmir.

Kerala police said 37-year-old Abdul Jaleel, who paints buildings at Kadachira in Kannur district, had been getting frequent calls from phones found on militants killed in the encounters in Kupwara.

On October 5, Jaleel is said to have replaced a SIM card he had been using for nearly a year. On October 7 and 10, four militants died in two encounters in Kupwara. The police found the sequence of the events suspicious.

Jaleel, allegedly an activist of the National Development Front (NDF), initially denied getting the calls from Jammu and Kashmir.

But when confronted with the details of his old SIM card, he told the police they were calls from strangers seeking details about people here. Kannur police chief S. Sreejith said the SIM details were “solid evidence”.

Jaleel had been kept under watch after the police stepped up vigil against suspected militants on the basis of intelligence alerts from Delhi.

Jammu and Kashmir police initially claimed that some of the slain militants in Kupwara were Malayalis after finding Kerala voter ID cards on them.

The police and intelligence agencies stepped up efforts to find out links of outfits like the Students Islamic Movement of India and the Indian Mujahideen in Kerala after the encounters.

But Kerala police later traced the voter ID cards to two persons residing in the state. They said the cards could have been forged.

Kerala points north, makes terror arrest: There’s a Valley link

Oct 20, 2008

Thiruvananthapuram, October 19 : Almost a fortnight after a suspected militant from Kerala was killed by security agencies in North Kashmir, the state police today arrested Abdul Jaleel, 38, a resident of Kannur. Jaleel, an activist of Kerala-based right wing Muslim outfit National Development Front (NDF), is alleged to have had close links with the suspected militant.

According to state intelligence sources, Jaleel, had been under the police radar for some time now following law and order issues in his locality of Edakkadu in Kannur. A painter by profession, he was allegedly active in propagating fundamentalism. He had also taken part in a recent rally organised by the NDF in Kannur to protest against the Indo-US nuclear deal.

While tracking his movements, police reportedly stumbled upon several mobile phone calls that Jaleel had received from Kashmir till October 5, two days before the encounter in Kupwara in which the suspected militant from Kerala was killed. On the same day itself, he discarded the SIM card which he had been using for the last one year.

Asked why he had abandoned the mobile number, Jaleel reportedly told the police that he had been getting “pestering calls”. “Our probe debunked his claim. After the calls from J&K, he was in a hurry to destroy evidence,” said an officer.

According to the police, the calls from Kashmir were made from the SIM card recovered from the militant killed in the encounter on October 7. The Kashmir police had recovered two ID cards bearing Kerala addresses and writings in Malayalam from the dead man.

There had been several rounds of to-and-fro communication between Jaleel and his connections in Kashmir. Jaleel, an upper primary school dropout, is not very familiar with languages other than Malayalam. “As he knows only Malayalam, we could conclude that his Kashmir connection also hailed from Kerala. On this ground and other circumstantial evidence, we could also say they have been operating with extremists in Kashmir,” sources said.

Jaleel’s arrest is a major breakthrough for the Kerala Police, who now hope to crack the suspected Terror network operating in the state. After the serial blasts in Ahmedabad in July this year, the Gujarat Police had revealed that the arrested SIMI activists had undergone arms training camp at Vagamon hill station in Kottayam.
