by reading this article i am sure of 3 things related to indian to be precise related to those 150 families

1. according to them indian army had uselessy fought 1999, 1971 many more because according to them bhaad me jaye desh and bhaad me jaye desh ka hit.
just imagine if any person of these homes stands up and becomes politician what good he will do for india and what he will say

2. indian pulic faces memory loss problem that to with dangerous blend of cowardness and blindness. they do not have the guts and power what american public had shown after9/11. had they left govt alone and told them that whatever decision they will take in keeping countries interest at first we will accept it. whole india is with u all indians are there with u. i firmly believe that it had yielded great results. some thing which we would be proud of.

3. we do not have out of the box thinking style as a result of that those terrorists were freed and it is india who is facing the consequences. it was because of them blody terrorists raped our mother nation. they dint thought for a single moment that how much loss to life and property they have done before they were nabbed and how much loss they will do when they will set free.

thanks to those army soldiers who laid there life in nabbing these terrorist, did good to the country and its people. but they dint knew that they will be betrayed by there own countrymen. and they also dint know that their own people will slap and abuse their martyerness.

my 4 uncles my father and my grandpa all were in army i know how much and where it pains. i have seen war in my home and in lyfe. seriously shame on ous. we should stop calling ourself as i am proud be an indian its a kind of slap on our soldiers face

i too feel that indians are not brave enough. i seriously believe that india is blessed with such a good and brave army otherwise what can happen we all know. american public after 9/11 asked goverment to punish all the perpators, and for this they were ready to send there loved ones to afghanistan, they didnt back. till date they remember that incident it didnt fade away from there mind. while on other hand indian people face memory loss problem they tend to easily forget what happend with them. i dont know why public blame govt for parliament attack it was because of them those 150 families why such an incident took place. they should be blamed. they did huge loss to indian sovereignity and integrity.

I really think its very shameful thing …
Just think .. those terrorists who were released can kill or have killed tonnes more people than who were in the aircraft…. what about theory families .. sabhi “mai Aur mera parivar, bhad Mai jaye desh” aisa sochte to shayed what Indian army and all the soldiers do or did is nothing ..

Your style and command over language is excellent. Unfortunately, that’s about the only thing good about the article.
Here are a few excerpts that makes our country look shamelessly weak:
“Mr Vajpayee and his aides remained unaware of the hijacking till reaching Delhi”…..”a full hour and 40 minutes since the hijacking”- and you presented the excuses.
“There are two versions as to why the NSG didn’t show up: First, they were waiting for an aircraft to ferry them from Delhi to Amritsar; second, they were caught in a traffic jam between Manesar and Delhi airport. The real story was never known!”- were you the aide to the PMO of Mozambique, or was it Mogadishu?
“the Pakistanis would have nothing of it and wanted IC 814 off their soil and out of their airspace as soon as possible”- the Amritsar officials wanted the same thing, as is evident from your article? Was Amritsar different from India, those days?
“Could the Kandahar episode have ended any other way? Were an Indian aircraft to be hijacked again, would we respond any differently?”- hit google.com and type “Entebbe 1976″ and you would get the answer. Unfortunately, we are too soft, even today.

As for relatives making a hue and cry, the 1976 Entebbe crisis had seen more of them. The Air France hostages’ relatives had formed a bigger union and were in constant touch with Yitzak Ravin (unlike our X Y and Z+ flaunting politicians who feel indignified to talk to common men) who was, at the other end, finalizing the rescue mission.
How low could you stoop- even if Mrs Ahuja “insisted that she should be taken to meet the relatives of the hostages”, what made you put this poor woman in front of that unruly crowd? Had she come up to Race Course Road and “insisted” on getting Narendra Modi arrested for mass murder, would you do that?

“Kandahar decision won’t have been easy: Chidambaram”- is Chidambaram God?

My point is, between 1976 and 1999, we had a good 23 years. Being close to Pakistan makes us terrorists’ hunting ground, so Kathmandu-to-Amritsar-to-Kandahar could happen any day.
Why was an anti-hijack plan not in place?
If they could do it with no precedent, why could we not recreate their action more than 2 decades later?
(Just imagine, Masood Azhar could have been killed instead of being arrested following the British citizen kidnapping incident, and Kandahar would never take place)

These long inside stories and logical reasons (namely excuses) apart, can we not accept the fact that we are a supersoft nation?

Raj is absolutely correct. There is nothing wrong with asking for help to Israel, today they have one of the Top commando group. We know our country spending most part of our income for defense, so i think we should develop a sharp and best group of commandos.

well it is a eye opening article.
But we Indians don’t have tactics and good comando power to face these kind of suitations.
We should learn from Israel and other western countries how to face these suitations.
Israel being a very small country doesn’t bend for any activites against their country, we are feared to talk with Israel because
of minority vote.
India should draw line between the religion and country and it should define when it comes to security of country no more decision based on religion. Either hindu,muslim or sikh they are Indians first.
So talking to Israel and taking its help and advanced technology is nothing wrong.

Unfortunate our politians are worried of minority votes and screw security.
We have to become more equiped, modern and good network to face these kind of evils in future.

I think India acted wisely and saved passengers.The hijackers are sure to have killed many passengers and blown up the aircraft. But every country must have a plan to tackle the hijackers.

all shiv sena or rama sene or vhp can do is beat up girls wearing jeans and couples on park benches.

they will turn tail the moment they see a fierce pathan or a bearded muslim.

ahimsa from a position of power is fine but when ahimsa hides our squeamishness then the invaders have every right to humiliate and oppress us.
