What the Islamic Invaders Did to India

 http://www.islam-watch.org/Rizwan_Salim/What-Islamic-Invaders-Did-to-India.htm

(This article was originally published in Hindustan Times on December 28, 1997)

On the anniversary of the Babri Masjid demolition (December 6, 1992), it is important for Hindus (and Muslims) to understand the importance of the event in the context of Hindustan’s history, past and recent, present and the future.

Savages at a very low level of civilisation and no culture worth the name, from Arabia and west Asia, began entering India from the early century onwards. Islamic invaders demolished countless Hindu temples, shattered uncountable sculpture and idols, plundered innumerable palaces and forts of Hindu kings, killed vast numbers of Hindu men and carried off Hindu women.

This story, the educated-and a lot of even the illiterate Indians-know very well. History books tell it in remarkable detail. But many Indians do not seem to recognise that the alien Muslim marauders destroyed the historical evolution of the earth’s most mentally advanced civilisation, the most richly imaginative culture, and the most vigorously creative society.

It is clear that India at the time when Muslim invaders turned towards it (8 to 11th century) was the earth’s richest region for its wealth in precious and semi-precious stones, gold and silver, religion and culture, and its fine arts and letters. Tenth century Hindustan was also too far advanced than its contemporaries in the East and the West for its achievements in the realms of speculative philosophy and scientific theorising, mathematics and knowledge of nature’s workings.

Hindus of the early medieval period were unquestionably superior in more things than the Chinese, the Persians (including the Sassanians), the Romans and the Byzantines of the immediate proceeding centuries. The followers of Siva and Vishnu on this subcontinent had created for themselves a society more mentally evolved-joyous and prosperous too-than had been realised by the Jews, Christians, and Muslim monotheists of the time. Medieval India, until the Islamic invaders destroyed it, was history’s most richly imaginative culture and one of the five most advanced civilisations of all times.

Look at the Hindu art that Muslim iconoclasts severely damaged or destroyed. Ancient Hindu sculpture is vigorous and sensual in the highest degree-more fascinating than human figural art created anywhere else on earth. (Only statues created by classical Greek artists are in the same class as Hindu temple sculpture). Ancient Hindu temple architecture is the most awe-inspiring, ornate and spell-binding architectural style found anywhere in the world. (The Gothic art of cathedrals in France is the only other religious architecture that is comparable with the intricate architecture of Hindu temples). No artist of any historical civilisation have ever revealed the same genius as ancient Hindustan’s artists and artisans.

Their minds filled with venom against the idol-worshippers of Hindustan, the Muslims destroyed a large number of ancient Hindu temples. This is a historical fact, mentioned by Muslim chroniclers and others of the time. A number of temples were merely damaged and remained standing. But a large number-not hundreds but many thousands-of the ancient temples were broken into shreds of cracked stone. In the ancient cities of Varanasi and Mathura, Ujjain and Maheshwar, Jwalamukhi and Dwarka, not one temple survives whole and intact from the ancient times.

The wrecking of Hindu temples went on from the early years of the 8th century to well past 1700 AD a period of almost 1000 years. Every Muslim ruler in Delhi (or Governor of Provinces) spent most of his time warring against Hindu kings in the north and the south, the east and the west, and almost every Muslim Sultan and his army commanders indulged in largescale destructions of Hindu temples and idols. They also slaughtered a lot of Hindus. It is easy to conclude that virtually every Hindu temple built in the ancient times is a perfect work of art. The evidence of the ferocity with which the Muslim invaders must have struck at the sculptures of gods and goddesses, demons and apsaras, kings and queens, dancers and musicians is frightful. At so many ancient temples of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, for example, shattered portions of stone images still lie scattered in the temple courtyards. Considering the fury used on the idols and sculptures, the stone-breaking axe must have been applied to thousands upon thousands of images of hypnotic beauty.

Giving proof of the resentment that men belonging to an inferior civilisation feel upon encountering a superior civilisation of individuals with a more refined culture, Islamic invaders from Arabia and western Asia broke and burned everything beautiful they came across in Hindustan. So morally degenerate were the Muslim Sultans that, rather than attract Hindu “infidels” to Islam through force of personal example and exhortation, they just built a number of mosques at the sites of torn down temples-and foolishly pretended they had triumphed over the minds and culture of the Hindus. I have seen stones and columns of Hindu temples incorportated into the architecture of several mosques, including the Jama Masjid and Ahmed Shah Masjid in Ahmedabad; the mosque in the Uparkot fort of Junagadh (Gujarat) and in Vidisha (near Bhopal); the Adhai Din Ka Jhonpra right next to the famous dargah in Ajmer-and the currently controversial Bhojshala “mosque” in Dhar (near Indore).

Hindu culture was at its imaginative best and vigorously creative when the severely-allergic-to-images Muslims entered Hindustan. Islamic invaders did not just destroy countless temples and constructions but also suppressed cultural and religious practices; damaged the pristine vigour of Hindu religion, prevented the intensification of Hindu culture, debilitating it permanently, stopped the development of Hindu arts ended the creative impulse in all realms of thought and action, damaged the people’s cultural pride, disrupted the transmission of values and wisdom, cultural practices and tradition from one generation to the next; destroyed the proper historical evolution of Hindu kingdoms and society, affected severely the acquisition of knowledge, research and reflection and violated the moral basis of Hindu society.

The Hindus suffered immense psychic damage. The Muslims also plundered the wealth of the Hindu kingdoms, impoverished the Hindu populace, and destroyed the prosperity of Hindustan.

Gaze in wonder at the Kailas Mandir in the Ellora caves and remember that it is carved out of a solid stone hill, an effort that (inscriptions say) took nearly 200 years. This is art as devotion. The temple built by the Rashtrakuta kings (who also built the colossal sculpture in the Elenhanta caves off Mumbai harbour) gives proof of the ancient Hindus’ religious fervor.

But the Kailas temple also indicated a will power, a creative imagination, and an intellect eager to take on the greatest of artistic challenges.

The descendants of those who built the magnificent temples of Bhojpur and Thanjavur, Konark and Kailas, invented mathematics and brain surgery, created mindbody disciplines (yoga) of astonishing power, and built mighty empires would almost certainly have attained technological superiority over Europe.

It is not just for “political reasons” that Hindus want to build grand temples at the sites of the (wrecked) Babri Masjid in Ayodhya, the Gyanvapi mosque in Varanasi, and the Mathura idgah. The efforts of religion-intoxicated and politically active Hindus to rebuild the Ram Mandir, the Kashi Vishwanath Mandir, and the Krishna Mandir are just three episodes m a one-thousand year long Hindu struggle to reclaim their culture and religion from alien invaders.

The demolition of the Babri Masjid in Ayodhya on 6 December 1992 was just one episode in the millennial struggle of the Hindus to repossess their religion-centered culture and nation. Meanwhile, hundreds of ancient Hindu temples forsaken all over Hindustan await the reawakening of Hindu cultural pride to be repaired or rebuilt and restored to their original, ancient glory.

From The Horse’s Mouth: We need atomic weapons and mujahideen to conduct Jihad in Kashmir, says Pakistan JD’s Daawa

Posted by jagoindia on November 27, 2007

Do we really need middlemen, interlocuters etc in the form of moderate Muslims, liberal media, politicians, to tell us that Islam is a religion of peace.  Why? When when we can hear directly from the Muslim leaders themselves.

From the Pakistan’s Daily Times (Feb 2004). Jamaat ud-Daawa (JD) Ameer Hafiz “The media and the (Pakistani) parliament should know that there are 77 commands related to jihad in the Quran. They should follow these and fulfil their religious duty,”

LAHORE: Atomic weapons, traditional weapons, a strong army and voluntary mujahideen are obligatory for jihad and the Jamaat ud-Daawa (JD) will continue protecting and arranging these resources for jihad against Hindus, the JD party announced Thursday at a Kashmir Solidarity Day rally.

JD Ameer Hafiz Muhammad Saeed said the organisation would not allow the government to disregard the sacrifices of Kashmiri mujahideen, and would start a countywide campaign to inform people about “conspiracies against the Kashmir freedom struggle”. Jihad is the only solution to the Kashmir issue and it was a fact and will remain a fact that jihad will free the Indian Muslims, who are looking to us,” he said. He said no one could stop Pakistani and Indian Muslims when they joined Kashmiris in their struggle against the Indian occupation because it was their “obligatory duty”.

Muslims throughout the world have a bond of kalma. From Lahore to Srinagar, Kabul to Baghdad, Basra to Chechnya, they are fighting under this kalma, but the infidel world doesn’t like it and describes it as terrorism, he said.

Mr Saeed said only jihad could guarantee the security of Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Afghanistan and the whole Islamic world. He praised Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan and said he hadn’t committed any crime by transferring nuclear technology to Muslim countries. He shared the technology for the supremacy of Islam and he acted on the Allah’s command,” Mr Saeed said, describing Dr Khan as a hero. “He is our hero, will remain our hero, and the government can’t undermine his honour under American pressure.”

Pune: Temple remains found under the debris of a Dargah

Posted by jagoindia on November 23, 2007

Pune Dargah debris Temple remains of Yadav Dynasty

Photo of Temple remains found under the debris of a Dargah

Pune: The wall of Chhota Shaikh Sallah dargah, near the Mutha river collapsed about a month ago. As repairs started, ruins of a ancient Hindu temple were found under the debris of the wall.

The news spread like wildfire and members of many Hindu organizations rushed to the spot, resulting in tension in the area. Police prohibited people from reaching there by raising barricades. The media were allowed to visit the spot. Mr. Gajanan Mehandale and Mr. Pandurang Balkawade senior historians also visited the site on hearing the news.

Ruins found in the debris belong to a temple built by Yadav dynasty – Pandurang Balkawade, Historian
While talking to the media, Mr. Bulkawade said that according to the historical records, the ruins are of a temple built in Yadav reign. There were Shiva and Vishnu temples at Punyeshwar and Narayaneshwar on the banks of Mutha River. Muslim Sultan Allauddin Khilji attacked southern India. Later, he appointed Bada alias Bura Arab as his first Muslim administrator in the year 1194 A.D.
During that time, one ‘Avalia’ called Nizamuddin came to Pune from Delhi along with 700 followers. Two of his disciples named Shaikh Isauddin and Shaikh Saluddin started propagation of ‘Islam’. These two disciples destroyed the Shiva and Vishnu temples. In the holy book ‘Gatha’ written by Saint Namdev, there is a mention of these temples. After their death, in place of Narayaneshwar temple, Shaikh Sallah was built in the name of the elder disciple in the year 1330 A.D.
Pune got its name from the name of the temple ‘Punyeshwar’. In the year 1918, Pune municipality had found some ruins of the temple when development work was undertaken e.g. dwarshakha of the temple, idol of Sree Vishnu, an idol of a hermit, other idols of Hindu deities, ‘Shiva-linga’, Gomukh etc. These were handed over to the Indian Historians.

This is proof of the ‘idol-breaking’ mind-set of Muslims – Hindu Janjagruti Samiti (HJS)
It is a slap on the face of so-called secularists and is one more proof of the theory that ‘Attackers are always breakers; and can never be creators’. It is not a coincidence that after Paithan, ruins of temples have been found at Muslim structures at Pune; but it is a proof that Muslims have been ‘idol breakers’. Even in excavations at Babri Masjid, ruins of Hindu temples were found. Despite so much proof, Muslims claim these to be their structure and Government also keeps mum. Hindus should not be under the wrong impression that Government will do something to take over their structures; they need to unite and fight for getting back their own structures –Mr. Ramesh Shinde, spokesperson of HJS.

Every mosque is built over a Hindu temple – P.N. Oak, Senior Historian
Mr. P. N. Oak, a senior Historian has opined that every mosque is a Hindu temple,
taken over.

Pakistan called ‘global centre for terrorism’ By Khalid Hasan

Posted by jagoindia on November 17, 2007

Pakistan is teethering on the brink of collapse. This 2005 article says it all. It  reproduced in full since it is studded with with facts and figures and quotes.

Pakistan called ‘global centre for terrorism’

July 29,2005 Daily Times

By Khalid Hasan

Washington: “Pakistan remains the global centre for terrorism and for the remnants of Al Qaeda, which is still very strong here,” according to Pakistani journalist Ahmed Rashid.

In an interview published by the German weekly newsmagazine, Der Spiegel, Rashid is quoted as saying, “The fact is, after September 11, despite the many crackdowns made by the military regime of General Pervez Musharraf, we haven’t effectively shut down the Pakistani militant groups. The reason for that is that these groups are very closely tied into the military’s foreign policy, especially with respect to Kashmir and Afghanistan. The militant groups here have not been crushed and if the madrassas they control – they all control a certain number of such religious schools – are not shut down, we’re not going to see an end to militancy here.”
Asked about the London bombings, the Pakistani journalist who writes for a number of foreign newspapers and is author of the best-selling book ‘The Taliban,’ Rashid replied that people in Pakistan were very apprehensive after the bombing, but the connection with Pakistan did not come as a surprise. “It was clear there was a great danger that the Pakistani community in London would carry out such an attack. It is well known that the Muslim community there is very radical – at least some of them. People also knew many of them had connections in Pakistan.” He explained that the roots of the attack, however, were in England, since there has been an “enormous radicalisation” of British Muslims in the last few years and especially since 9/11.

There are radical preachers, there are radical mosques. There are lots of schools there which have been teaching students the Koran on Friday afternoons and at the same time radicalising them. There is no dearth of ideological training in England,” he added.

As to the question if President Musharraf was “doing enough,” Rashid replied, “When crackdowns do occur, they aren’t effective. Three hundred, or even 2,000, people are picked up, they’re held for 90 days and then they are freed as soon as the attention and pressure from the West has stopped. There has never been an organised campaign to combat it. It has never taken place.”

Asked what the message of the president in his July 7 speech was, the Pakistani journalist said, “His main message was a very positive one. He said we must combat extremism and launch a jihad against radicalism. He asked that people mobilise and not vote for extremists and so on. But there has been no shortage of such speeches. The main question is whether they will be followed by any meaningful action.”

As to the Pakistani president’s opinion that the bombers were born and bred British citizens, Rashid said the message was that you don’t need to come to Pakistan to become a fanatic. You can become a fanatic in Yorkshire, in Leeds or anywhere in England because there’s enough extremism there too. That’s what President Musharraf was alluding to, he added. To a question about what the Pakistani leader could do to “energetically combat fanaticism and terrorism,” Rashid’s answer was, “The biggest mistake the West has made with Pakistan since 9/11 has been the pursuit of private diplomacy. It hasn’t been made public. The West should spell out exactly what is expected of Pakistan and the regime. US President George W Bush, British Prime Minister Tony Blair, German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder, they keep praising Pakistan and saying it is doing a great job hunting down Al Qaeda and the Taliban, but behind the scenes they are whistling a completely different tune. The West needs to have one policy which should be in the public domain. Then the Pakistani public would insist that Musharraf fulfil these demands.”

When Der Spiegel pointed out that President Musharraf was trying to walk a “fine line,” because of radical elements at home, Rashid replied that this argument had been in use for the last four years. The fact is, he added, that Gen Musharraf is still there, still very much in power and “absolutely nothing has been done about extremism.”

In his view, “It is clear that Musharraf has a very political agenda. He wants to be re-elected in 2007 and he wants to remain in office until 2012. And for that, he needs votes. At the same time, though, he has been trying to be a good partner with the West. But his political agenda takes precedence over any commitments to combating extremism and terrorism. An army general cannot have a political agenda while he is trying to crack down on terror.”

The Pakistani correspondent and commentator expressed the view that if Gen Musharraf were to leave the scene for some reason, the army would take over again. “People are afraid because the country has nuclear weapons and they think the country would fall apart. I don’t believe any of that would happen. There would be continuity.”

As for the madrassas and their reform, Rashid did not believe the London bombers came to Pakistan to attend a madrassa, but to make contacts with militant groups and possibly to get training. He added that 80 percent of the madrassas are playing their traditional role, but a number of them have been taken over by militant groups and become recruiting platforms for them. It is difficult to close them down because they are run by the militant groups Gen Musharraf needs for other aspects of his foreign policy.

Rashid said Osama Bin Laden was on the run and his main priority at the moment was to stay alive. At the most, he may be able to provide some strategic directives through his support group, but he is not in a position to run day-to-day operations. He added, “He is certainly in Pakistan because Pakistan has traditionally had the best infrastructure for Al Qaeda. I don’t think the Pakistani military knows where he is, but they aren’t looking very hard either because they fear the military support they get from the United States would disappear as soon as Bin Laden is caught.

French Philosopher Quote on The Terrorist State of Pakistan (TSP)

Posted by jagoindia on November 17, 2007

The well-known philosopher Bernard Henri-Levy wrote last week in an op-ed in the French daily, Liberation:

“The world in general and more particularly the United States are discovering what many observers were shouting themselves hoarse since years: if there is a rogue State today amongst the rogue States, if there is a State at the same time despotic, terrorist, eroded by fundamentalist Islam, and marked with the seal of a distressing fragility, it is Pakistan.” source

Kashmir Clerics Protest Children singing ‘Vande Mataram. What does the Quran say?

Posted by jagoindia on November 16, 2007

According to this news article, Kashmir Clerics have strongly condemned  the report of hundreds of children singing ‘Vande Mataram’ at a Children’s Day function in Srinagar’s Sher-e-Kashmir International Convocation Centre.

They claim that singing ‘Vande Mataram’ is against the tenets of Islam as it encourages idol worship.

The average Muslim has also refused to sing this,” said Grand Mufti Bashiruddin. “It follows, then, how can you ask children to sing it at a government-organised function?

Essentially what the clerics say is true. In Islam, the concept of nationalism is not considered acceptable
and is considered as a sin as it divides the Ummah (muslims). Muslims are not allowed to be nationalistic or love their country.

It is narrated by Abu Da’wud that the Messenger of Allah (saaw) said,

“He is not one us who calls for `Asabiyyah, (nationalism/tribalism) or who
fights for `Asabiyyah or who dies for `Asabiyyah.”

And in another Hadith, the Messenger of Allah (saaw) referring to
nationalism, racism, and patriotism said:

“Leave it, it is rotten.” [Muslim and Bukhari] and in the Hadith recorded in
Mishkat al-Masabith, the Messenger of Allah (saaw) said,

“He who calls for `Asabiyyah is as if he bit his father’s genitals”

People should give up their pride in nations because that is a coal from the coals of
Hell-fire. If they do not give this up Allah (swt) will consider them lower
than the lowly worm which pushes itself through Khara (dung).” [Abu Dawud
and Tirmidhi]

Not only does Islam forbid people from grouping on nationalistic ties, but
it also prohibits the establishment of more than one state, whether these
states are based on nationalism or otherwise. The only state that is allowed
for the Muslims is the Islamic State, which is a state that is governed
exclusively by Islam.

source: http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Fields/2704/article29.html

So this is the basis where from the clerics are coming from and strongly protested the singing of national
song by the children. The clerics believe nationalism, love for the country is unislamic and
what is priority  is the unity of Muslims all over the world.  And transforming the world into an Islamic State or Darul-Islam.

Sorry, Hindus or kafirs have no place in this Islamic state that the Quran speaks of. Which is why
Hindus in Pakistan have been decimated from 10% during partition to a mere 2% today. 90% of Hindu Kashmiri Pandits have fled their homelands. And the same pernicious trend of ethnic religious cleansing of Hindu kafirs is observed in Bangladesh.

Believers fight for Allah, unbelievers fight for evil, so fight against the friends of Satan (this verse literally divides the into two camps-the world of Islam and the world of unbelief or Kufr; i.e., Dar-al-Islam and Dar-al-Harb) -4:76

Punishment for waging war against Allah (i.e. the unbelievers who reject Islam) and His messenger is execution (beheading) or crucifixion or cutting off of hands and feet from opposite sides or exile from the land…5:33

Longest surviving Hizbul comdr among 3 killed
“district commander of Hizbul Mujahideen, his associate and a SPO were killed in a fierce gun-battle between militants and troops of Rashtriya Rifles and police at Malikpura in Chatru area of Kishtwar district this evening. One of the slain militant was among the few longest surviving militants, who were operating in Doda and Kishtwar districts for last 15 years.”

Note: More than 60,000 people have been killed in Kashmir since 1989 when a Pakistani supported armed insurgency began against Indian rule.

We frequently come across the terms Fidayeen or Mujahideen. These basically mean Mujahideen literally means strugglers and is a term for guerilla Muslim fighters for their Islamic cause. Fidayeens are those who are ready to die for this islamic cause. They are suicide killers/bombers and have a strong inner urge to die while carrying out their deed (and reap the rewards the quran has promised).

Why Muslim Terrorists Attacked Ajmer Dargah
The War Against Popular Islam
www.hindu.com/2007/10/12/stories/2007101261651600.htm

“Islamist critics of Sufism have made no secret of their loathing for shrines like that at Ajmer, which they claim propagate the heresy of ‘shirk’ – an Arabic term commonly translated to mean polytheism, but which is also used to refer to the veneration of saints and even atheism. South Asian terror groups associated with recent attacks on Muslim shrines – notably the Lashkar-e-Taiba – draw theological inspiration from the Salafi sect, a neoconservative tradition also sometimes referred to as Wahabbism. Salafi theologians are intensely hostile to Sufi orders like that founded by Chishti, characterising them as apostasy. In The General Precepts of the Ahlus- Sunnah wal-Jamaah, a pamphlet which propounds the Salafi doctrine, theologian Shaykh Naasir al’Aql, sharply criticises religious practices ‘where the dead are taken as intermediaries between a person and Allah, supplicating them and seeking the fulfilment of one’s needs through them, seeking their assistance and other similar acts.’

    Bombers ‘regret’ killing Muslims

    http://ca.news.yahoo.com/s/afp/071101/world/indonesia_attacks_bali_tv

    Thu Nov 1, 2:45 AM

JAKARTA (AFP) – Two of the three Muslim militants on death row for involvement in the 2002 Bali bombings said they were sorry for killing fellow Muslims, while insisting their deadly attack had gone according to plan.

In an interview at their remote island prison, taped secretly by national TV channel Lativi, Imam Samudra, 37, and Amrozi, 45, said it was regrettable Muslims were among the 202 killed on the resort island’s nightclub attacks.

“Yes, I regret (the Muslim deaths)… I cried,” Samudra said in the interview aired on Wednesday night. But he added that he had bowed “in grace” after the blasts were detonated.

Asked why Bali, Samudra said that it was better to hit one place rather than several and Bali “was the best because there are a lot of infidels (non-believers).”

He said had a group of infidels been outside his own house, “I would have blown up my house.”

Amrozi also admitted his regret but repeated a joke made in bad taste while being tried in court, answering when asked whether he regretted the attacks that he was sorry “only 200” were killed.

“I am fasting for two months consecutively, it’s to prove that I regret that Muslims were killed. Please say I am sorry for the Muslim victims,” said the convict, who has in the past apologised to the families of the Muslims killed.

The Islamic militant was dubbed “the laughing bomber” during his trial for his apparent indifference to victims.

Nevertheless, he said the attacks “scenario was as planned.”

Amrozi said that the Bali attack had promoted the idea of “jihad” and that his death would ensure the popularity of the concept.

“When I was arrested no one knew of jihad… now everyone is talking about it, and this is when I am still alive. Imagine after I am dead,” he said.

The three militants are being held at Nusakambangan prison off the south coast of Java island, where they were moved from Bali for security reasons.

Two Lativi staff members posed as relatives of the convicts and accompanied their family members to gain access to the men. They were granted the visit at the end of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan in October as part of a normal programme allowing such visits then.

During the visit Samudra gave his mother a will and read it out loud.He said he did not want to be autopsied after he died and did not want “anyone to cry in front of my body.”

Indonesia’s Supreme Court rejected an appeal by the three in August but no date has so far been set for their executions.

Their last chance of avoiding a firing squad will be to appeal for clemency from the president, but they have not done so yet and insisted they are willing to die.

The attack on two crowded nightclubs was carried out by the then-al-Qaeda-linked Jemaah Islamiyah terror group to avenge perceived injustices to Muslims worldwide, although analysts say the two groups are no longer linked.

Amrozi attended planning meetings for the attack and purchased one tonne of explosive chemicals and a van to carry the bomb which shattered the Sari Club. Samudra attended planning meetings, selected the blast targets in Bali and assigned tasks to the bombers. Most victims were foreign tourists, including 88 Australians.
