VHP launches Hindu Helpline in Kerala

May 27, 2010

In the Marxists-ruled Kerala [ Images ], the Vishwa Hindu Parishad Kerala chapter has launched a helpline offering assistance to “Hindus in distress”.

Named Shivaji Hindu Helpline, the service particularly offers “help for Hindu girls who are being lured into what they call the trap of “love-jihad”.

The helpline service, set up at the Hindu Cultural Centre at the Paavakkulam temple complex at Kaloor in Ernakulam, has been receiving large number of distress calls, state VHP leaders said.

Though the helpline will provide assistance such as legal and medical help to Hindus in distress, they say, it is also meant to receive information on terrorist activities and cow slaughter.

Cibin, the helpline co-ordinator, said the helpline number (9497545511) had received around 8,000 calls so far. A diary has been maintained to keep information regarding the callers.

According to Cibin, around 750 cases have been reported to the police. Of this, 366 girls from various communities, he said, had been rescued by Bajrang Dal workers from the love trap.

According to Cibin, 72 Nair, 33 Ezhava, 14 Christians and more than 90 Brahmin girls were among the rescued.

VHP state secretary Kalady Manikantan told mediapersons that many girls get converted after being selectively employed in shops run by Muslims.

A counseling centre has also been opened in Kochi. An All-India Hindu Helpline will be launched in Pune soon on the direction of VHP International secretary Praveen Togaida, Manikantan said.

Jihad in Shahpur, Ahmedabad. Hindu man brutally attacked, dies

Posted by jagoindia on May 26, 2010

Vijay Datania, brutally attacked by Muslims in Shahpur dies

Ahmedabad, DeshGujarat, 26 May, 2010

Vijay Dataniya who was according to locals dragged to Muslim street near Ambalivali pol secondary school, was beaten by stones, forcefully fed acid, showered by acid and injured by sword and pipe by group of rioting Muslims died today in Ahmedabad’s V.S.Hospital.

Resident of Ramesh chowk in Shahpur area where Hindus are in minority now, thanks to frequent attacks by Muslims, Vijay Dataniya was 52-year old. He is survived by two children and wife.

Vijay was brutally attacked by Muslims on Tuesday. Spectators present on the site said, “there were four police constables present on the site, but they couldn’t dare to prevent group of Muslim attackers. After Vijay was brutally beaten and fed acid, we the people from Hindu area formed large group, went there and rescued him from the hands of Muslims.”

Locals said, “this is one more death of Hindu in Shahpur area. If you start counting the records, in previous 10-20 years dozens of Hindus are killed in this area. Many rich and middle class Hindus who can afford to buy property elsewhere have vacated this area and shifter to other parts of the city. Now some poor people like us are surviving here. We face regular attacks from Muslim side, but as we are poor we can not buy property anywhere else and can not shift. We are here to fight with little help of police sometime, but most of the time on our own.”

The latest riot in Shahpur began when a Hindu wedding procession was passing through a street where Muslim mosque is located. Muslims asked Hindus to stop music and dancing. They also reportedly harassed some Hindu girls participating in wedding procession.

On Tuesday, at least four Hindu Mandirs were vandalized by Muslims. Idol of goddess Khodiar mata was damaged. All this happened when heavy police force was deployed here.

Ahmedabad walled city on the boil, one dead

TNN, May 27, 2010,

AHMEDABAD: One person succumbed to acid burns in the riots that broke out in Shahpur area of the walled city on Monday night. Shopkeepers downed shutters and the busy streets went quiet as residents huddled indoors out of fear. Four stabbing incidents occurred since Tuesday night.

Tension spread to other parts of the city as knives and swords were out and two persons were stabbed right outside the Mirzapur rural court.

The sensitive Nagoriwad area of Shahpur has been burning since Monday night when a marriage procession which passed by a mosque at prayer time, led to clashes between communities. There were repercussions the following day when at least 18 persons, including four policemen, were injured in stone throwing and acid bulb attacks.

On Wednesday morning, one of the injured, Vijay Datania died in Civil hospital, which agitated the residents. Extra posse of policemen were deployed to ensure peace in the funeral procession in which over a thousand people joined in, but the backlash could not be controlled.

An armed mob of masked young boys slashed the throat of a scooterist near RC technical school at the famous Chalte Pir ki Dargah in Shahpur and attacked him with stones, barely 15 feet from a police point. The man was rushed to VS hospital in a police jeep.

In a reaction an incited crowd set two motorbikes on fire near Dilli Darwaja area late on Wednesday afternoon. Joint commissioner of police (sector 1) Satish Sharma rushed with a team of senior officers to the spot to bring about control.

Around 5 pm, two peons of Mirzapur court who were headed toward St Xaviers’ school, were attacked by a mob armed with swords. The 108 ambulance service rushed to their help. What is intriguing here is that this incident happened just a few feet away from the Mirzapur police chowky. That apart there is a security picket right outside the court.

“We are exercising restraint . Of the 18 injured, four are policemen,” a senior police officer told TOI.

Deputy commissioner of police (control room) Dinesh Parmar said, “We have called for extra SRP forces and have deployed more deputy superintendents of police and inspectors .”

Panic in old city after rumours

AHMEDABAD: After four stabbing incidents since Tuesday night, in a grim reminder of the 2002 situation, rumour mongering took over leading to a panic-like situation in the city. Shops on Relief road, Manekchowk, Kalupur chokha bazaar, Madhupura market, Shahpur, Jamalpur and other areas of the walled city began to close down as news of the violence spread.

Although Wednesday’s incidents of stabbing were confined to the two kilometre patch between Dilli Darwaja and Mirzapur, rumours began to do rounds about riots spreading to Kalupur, Dariapur , Juhapura and Sabarmati areas. By 4 pm on Wednesday, the entire walled city wore a deserted look with a self-imposed curfew.

A shopkeeper in Madhavpura, Anil Prajapati, said, “When two motorbikes were set ablaze near Dilli Darwaja, we got scared and closed our shops. Fearing that the rioters would attack markets causing more property damage, all the markets shut down.”

Even autorickshaws went off the road and those still plying refused to pick passengers headed for the walled city areas. Passengers coming from the railway station or getting back home to the pols from work, had a tough time. Only AMTS buses were running.

In Amli ni Pol area of Shahpur, women began to demonstrate before the police, complaining that the incidents of violence were happening before the police, which were doing nothing .

Rekha Solanki, a resident of this pol, said, “The police know who these rioters are from both communities. But the police are deliberately avoiding action, which is why the violence is not coming under control.”

Tear gas shells lobbed 144
Persons injured 14
Policemen injured 4
Vehicles burnt 6
Shops burnt 24
Rounds fired 12

Kashmiri Pandits criticise Amnesty International team of ignoring human rights violations by Islamic terrorists in Kashmir

Kashmiri Pandits criticise Amnesty International team

Mon, May 24

Jammu, May 24 (PTI) Slamming the conduct of an Amnesty International team during its visit to Kashmir, two organisations of displaced Kashmiri Pandits today accused it of ignoring human rights violations by ”jehadi” terrorist groups in J-K. “The way the Amnesty team has conducted itself during its recent visit to Kashmir demonstrates that their visit was guided more by political considerations than any concern for human rights,”

Chairman of Panun Kashmir Ajay Chrungoo told reporters here. The two-member team comprising B J Batra and Gopala Krishnan concluded its six-day visit to Kashmir yesterday.

President of All State Kashmiri Pandit Solidarity Conference (ASKPSC) O N Trisal alleged that the team “conveniently chose to sidetrack the issue of ethnic cleansing of Kashmiri Hindus, as it has over the years chosen to ignore the genocide of Hindus living in Pakistan and Bangladesh and in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK)”. The two leaders criticised the team for meeting Syed Ali Shah Geelani and Yasin Malik and compared the separatist leaders to the fascist war criminals of Germany.

Chrungoo said, “we want to clearly state that human rights violations in J&K, which the representatives of Amnesty came to assess, are mainly the violations committed by jehadi terrorist groups against the whole community of Hindus in the state who are subjected to genocide and extermination. “By persisting with its specific agenda, Amnesty has not been able to dispel the doubts about it being essentially and instrument of foreign policy of those who want to subvert the independence of India and destroy its national unity,” the leaders alleged.

They said the Centre should not have allowed the delegation to visit Kashmir after having denied it permission to do so during the last two decades.

Cop dies in Hyderabad shootout, high alert in city

Hyderabad: A policeman was killed and two others were injured when two people on a motorcycle opened fire on a police picket in the old city of Hyderabad on Friday. A high alert has been sounded across the city.

The incident took place this evening near Volga Hotel in Shahali Banda area, about a km from the historic Charminar and Mecca Masjid.

Eye witnesses said two people on a motor cycle opened fire on a police picket deployed as part of the security arrangements ahead of the third anniversary of the blast at the historic Mecca Masjid (May 18). The assailants fled after attacking the policemen.

Constable Ramesh, of the Andhra Pradesh Special Police (APSP), died while being shifted to Osmania Hospital while two other policemen were being treated for their injuries.

Police have put up barricades at several points in the city and started checking vehicles and frisking people.

The incident sent shock waves as it came despite the continuing search operations by police for over a fortnight amid intelligence warnings of possible terror attacks and close on the heels of the arrest of a terror suspect.

Last year, on the second anniversary of the blast, a policeman was killed and another injured in a similar attack when assailants opened fire on police at Falaknuma area of the old city.

Police believed Viqaruddin, an alleged terror operative, was involved. Two policemen were injured Dec 3, 2008 in the attempt to arrest Viqaruddin, when one of the two people accompanying him opened fire at the policemen. The trio managed to escape.

The bomb blast during on Friday prayers in the 17th century mosque May 18, 2007 killed nine people. Five people died in the subsequent police firing on protestors outside the mosque.

Police on May 3 arrested an alleged terror suspect belonging to the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). Police said 34-year-old Mohammed Zia-ul-Haq was planning to cause explosions in busy areas of the city.

Suspect in Hyderabad shootout identified

Viqar Ahmed, a suspected terrorist, has been identified as one of the attackers in Friday’s shootout in Hyderabad in which one policeman was killed, police said yesterday.
Ahmed was identified as the assailant after investigators recorded statements of witnesses and analysed a CD left behind by the attackers. Considered tech-savvy, Ahmed typed a letter contained in the CD.

Tehreek Galba-e-Islam, an outfit allegedly floated by Ahmed, owned responsibility saying the attack was carried out in retaliation for the police firing after a blast at the Mecca Masjid on May 18, 2007.

A constable was shot dead by two gunmen on Friday although the police were on high alert ahead of the third anniversary of the bomb blast at the historic mosque.
Ahmed and his accomplice came on a motorcycle wearing helmets.

Some suspects have been detained in the old city.

Police Commissioner A K Khan said a red alert has been sounded across the city in view of the blast anniversary. He advised the police to remain vigilant.

Ahmed, said to be a former member of the banned Students’ Islamic Movement of India (SIMI), was also blamed for gunning down a policeman in a similar attack on May 18 last year.

The last rites of slain constable U Ramesh were conducted in his native Chittoor district with full state honours. Senior police officials paid tributes to the policeman whose wife is also a police official.

26/11 Islamic terrorist Ajmal Kasab sentenced to death

Posted by jagoindia on May 6, 2010

Death Sentence for Ajmal Kasab

Thu, May 6

A Mumbai Special Court, which conducted the trial of 26/11 terror strikes, announced the death penalty for Ajmal Amir Kasab, the lone surviving terrorist. The sentencing by Judge M L Tahiliyani makes Kasab the 52nd person on death row in India. Kasab was handed capital punishment for killing 72 people and waging war against the state.

Kasab got the death sentence on four counts, while he got life-term in five other cases.

Kasab, a Pakistan citizen, has turned into one of India’s costliest prisoners. Till now, the Government has spent over 35 crore rupees for his safety.

Public prosecutor, Ujjwal Nikam, described him as “worse than a wild beast… Kasab is a killing machine… and the orders for this machine came from Pakistan.”

On Monday, Kasab was found guilty on more than 80 of the 86 charges brought against him for planning and executing the 26/11 attacks in Mumbai.

The death penalty will not be implemented immediately. Kasab has the option of appealing to higher courts, and can also file a mercy petition for the consideration of the President.

Special Public Prosecutor in the Mumbai attack case Ujjwal Nikam today expressed happiness over awarding of death sentence to Pakistani terrorist Ajmal Kasab for the carnage, saying the verdict has delivered justice to the families of the victims. “I am happy about the verdict.

Nikam, who fought India’s biggest terror attack case, said the “fair and open trial in the case” has given the message to the entire world that in India everybody, even a dreaded terrorist, gets full opportunity to defend himself. Speaking on the trial procedure in the special court, he said Kasab tried every trick to mislead the court on several occasions. “Sometimes he would ask for chicken biriyani, sometimes he would tell us that he wanted to tie a rakhi. He used all the theatrics so as to save himself,” Nikam said

The 22-year-old Kasab, from Pakistan’s Punjab province was seen crying as he was led back to the court room after stepping out briefly with the judge’s consent to drink water.

At one point, special judge M.L. Tahaliyani asked the defence lawyer if Kasab wanted to say something. When the question was posed to him, Kasab just shook his head. He looked irritated and again sat down. The judge then spoke directly to the prisoner in Hindi: ‘Do you want to say something?’ Kasab looked at the judge blankly, shook his head and sat down.

Speaking later, Special Public Prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam said: “Those were crocodile tears.” Nikam went on to recite a Sanskrit verse to mean that no matter how much milk is given to a snake, it will always spew venom.

Madhuri Gupta may have embraced Islam: Report

Islamabad: Madhuri Gupta, the 53-year-old second secretary arrested on charges of spying for Pakistan, may have embraced Islam about six years ago, a media report has claimed.

Gupta, who was posted at the Indian High Commission in Islamabad was perhaps a Shia Muslim, according to a media report.

“She was really inspired by the teachings of Islam but was scared to announce her new faith,” reads a report in the Post.

“Her kin has very close relations with a well-known Muslim family of Ashiq Hussain Jafri in Lucknow”.

Ms Gupta spent her early life in Lucknow with Jafri’s family where she enthused (sic) Islamic values,” the Post quoted a source as saying.

Gupta was spotted in the month of Ramzan by a local journalist wearing a bangle and rings which usually members of the Shia sect wear.

“I am fasting and I have great respect for Islam,” she told the journalist.
