The biggest grievance of Muslims

Posted by jagoindia on October 6, 2008

Vir Sanghvi, in The balancing act (Counterpoint, September 28), rightly pointed out that no society can survive if it negotiates with terrorists or addresses their agenda. Sanghvi could have elaborated the truth that the biggest grievance of Muslims is that the whole universe, created by Allah, is not governed by Islamic laws. Terrorism is just a political term to keep distance between the practicing jehadis and the rest. The bombers relish when they watch the devastation caused by their jehad, which to them must make Hindus and other non-Muslims yield to Islam. The only balancing act would be to generate a resolve to defeat the nefarious designs of these criminals.

Muslims demand for mosque inside historic Kangla fort

Posted by jagoindia on October 5, 2008

This is a real kicker According to the resolution taken at the meeting, the demand for the mosque is not only in the interest of Muslim community alone but also to maintain secularism in the state and for peaceful coexistence between different communities. …..

Excuse me??  Promoting Islam so as to maintain secularism?!! What a cruel joke. That is what is called Muslim doublespeak.  Fooling and Abusing secular India to promote their extreme Islamic agenda.

Cultural body protests Muslim demand for mosque inside Kangla

IMPHAL, Sep 28: A demand for the building of a mosque inside the historic Kangla fort by Muslim (Meetei Pangal) based civil organizations received sharp criticism from Cultural Preservation Centre, Imphal on Sunday.

Mention may be made that a joint meeting of various civil society bodies of minority Muslims (Meitei Pangal) in Thoubal district last Friday (September 16) resolved to press the state government for building of a mosque inside the historic Kangla fort and another at Sajiwa jail. They also planned to submit a memorandum to the state chief minister, O Ibobi Singh regarding their demand.

According to the resolution taken at the meeting, the demand for the mosque is not only in the interest of Muslim community alone but also to maintain secularism in the state and for peaceful coexistence between different communities. It will also make Meitei Pangals have a sense of belonging to the historic Kangla fort and Sajiwa jail where many Muslim inmates are facing problems due to the lack of a place of worship, they said.

Sharply reacting to the demand by the Muslim community, the Cultural Preservation Centre, Manipur, an apex body of various culture based organizations in a statement today said that it was unfortunate to put up such a demand for a mosque in such a sacred place of the Meetei community where the temple of Pakhangba, the Supreme God of the Meetei religion is located since time immemorial.

In a similar way, if some sections of the people demand making of temples at places housing other religious sites like Mecca or Jerusalem, would it be agreeable, it asked.

The demand may snowball from a small matter to a big issue like that of Babri Masjid which is yet to be solved, it said. The demand may be a threat to the long time peaceful co-existence and harmony among the different communities settling in the state, it added.

The body also recounted that knowing the fact that Kangla fort is a sacred place for the Meeteis, India’s Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh on November 20, 2004 handed the fort to the state government bringing to an end its occupation by the armed forces since before India got independence. It further said that on October 16, 1949, the then Governor General Raja Goplacharya ordered protection of Kangla as a Meetei’s holy place under the Monument Act while reiterating that any other religion should not try to disturb the historic site of the fort.

Mangalore: A bee hive of islamic terror activities

Posted by jagoindia on October 5, 2008

M’lore could be a bee hive of terror activities
http://mangalorean.com/news.php?newstype=broadcast&broadcastid=95646
By Team Mangalorean, Mangalore

MANGALORE, October 3, 2008:  With four  persons being formally arrested for possible links with the international terror groups in Two towns of Dakshina Kannada by the police during the last one week it is more or less castes a suspicion over the city that it could be a possible bee hive of Mujahideen activities. It can be recalled here that one person was apprehended in Kukke Subramanya yesterday.

While the investigations being conducted on the first arrest made in Subramanya the four who were apprehended in Ullal had high tech equipments including Laptops, CDs, Mobile phones and crude bombs and a cash of Rs. 11.4 lakhs. These are unlikely possessions of a group who purportedly earned their livelihoods by a student, a construction worker, a petty shop owner and an estate agent.

According to Inspector General of Police (Western Range) Ashith Mohan Prasad who displayed the seized materials in the police headquarters in Mangalore, these  arrests could lead the police into a larger group of terror links in the country.  The fact remains that it was the Mumbai police who had the tipped off the local police. No body can deny that Mumbai was still the target for a larger terror attack says one of the inspectors who took part in the raid on Ullal township at Mukkachcheri. Whatever blasts occur in Mumbai would have devastating effect on the entire country as the losses in terms of life and property would be greater than anywhere else.

The inside sources in the police intelligence told Mangalorean.com that soon after the BJP and its fundamentalist fraternity had started gaining prominence in the coastal district the Mujahideen groups had also started intensifying their activities in the coastal districts particularly in Mangalore. The nabbing of the suspects proved it abundantly. The BJP had won all the assembly seats in Dakshina Kannada except Moodbidri and Ullal constituencies.

The suspects have been identified as Mohammed Ali (56) a real estate agent from Mukkachari in Ullal and his son Jawed Ali (20) a student from Ullal, Naushad (25) from Subhashnagar who is engaged in construction work, and Ahmed Bawa (33) a petty shop owner in Haleyangadi in Mulky hobli. Several others have been detained for questioning, police sources said.

“We are also ascertaining the nature of work Bawa was engaged in as he has not given clear information on it,” they said.

The Karnataka police, the state Anti-Naxal Force and Mumbai Police jointly raided several places in and around Mangalore early Friday and picked up 11 suspects for questioning.

Four of them have been formally arrested for having links with Indian Mujahideen and in connection with series of explosions in several parts of India, Prasad said.

The initial interrogation of the suspects has brought out the fact that all four of them were in constant touch with each others and perhaps they were trying something big in the district. A few other links were also being investigated into.

In a related development another suspect was apprehended in Kudroli whose name and identity was yet to be established.

Later in the evening the top brass of police have gone into a huddle in the state police headquarters in Bangalore with the Director General R. Sreekumar presiding. Additional Director General (internal security) Neelam Achuta Rao, Bangalore Police Commissioner Shankar Bidari, Joint Additional Commissioner Gopal Hosur top officials of police including Ajay Kumar Singh were locked up in a meeting for the entire evening on Friday.

According to inside sources in the department the meeting was held to discuss about the internal security threats in the state particularly Mangalore and Bangalore.  The Police chief was to brief the Chief Minister and the Home Minister on Saturday, first thing in the morning. Mr. Gopal Hosur who has been on a short visit to Mangalore on Friday has returned to the city in the evening to take part in the high level meeting and has briefed the Police chief about the situation there.

Bangladesh immigrants attack Bodo tribals, durga puja idols, Pakistan flag spotted

Communal violence in Guwahati, toll hits 15
Guwahati, October 05, 2008, Hindustan Times

The army staged flag marches in Guwahati’s Udalguri and Darrang districts on Saturday as the death toll in the communal violence between the immigrant settlers of Bangladeshi origin, mainly Muslims, and Bodo tribal members went up to 15.

Eight bodies were recovered from Bhakatgaon and Sonaripara villages of Udalguri district on Saturday.

The two districts continued to remain tense with fresh reports of violence and rioting.

Miscreants set ablaze 60 houses in Jhongapara and 40 others in Dingdong Para villages in Udalguri district.

Reports of houses being torched were also received from Bhakatpara and Garobasti area, both under the Dhula police station.

In Darang district, violence spread to new areas after a mob of the immigrant Muslim settlers allegedly targeted vehicles carrying Durga Puja idols.

The settlers also allegedly torched houses of a linguistic minority in Darrang district’s Dhula and Kharupetia areas.

“Situation in Darrang district is very tense. Besides police and CRPF, the Army was also deployed in several sensitive areas,” said Darrang deputy commissioner Dhruba Hazarika.

A red alert has been sounded in both the violence-affected districts.

The All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) demanded that the Udalguri district be handed over to the Army.

The Assam government has already transferred Udalguri deputy commissioner George Basumatary and suspended SP Vijay Kulligam for “their failure to tackle the situation”.

Assam chief minister Tarun Gogoi, who reviewed the situation of both the districts, has ordered stern action against culprits.

Assam: Communal violence toll 10

Eight burnt bodies were found on Saturday from two Bodo villages taking the toll in the ongoing group clash to 10 in Udalguri district where a shoot-at-sight order was on, official sources said.

The bodies were found from Sonaripara and Jhargaon villages, under Udalguri police station, which were attacked in the wee hours by illegal Bangladeshi migrants with bows and arrows. Several houses of a neighbouring village were also torched, the sources said.

On Friday, two bodies were found from a village under Rowta police station even as incidents of arson and looting in neighbouring Darrang district forced the administration to impose curfew in Dalgaon and Dhola on Friday and in Udalguri on Saturday, they said.

Meanwhile, media personnel saw a Pakistani flag atop a pole in Sonaripara village and took photographs of it. Local television channels also ran footage of the foreign flag.

Officials and security forces, however, denied any knowledge of the presence of that flag.

Over 25 serious burn injury victims were shifted to the Guwahati Medical College Hospital, while others were admitted to local hospitals.

The army had been deployed to assist the district administration and additional security forces were rushed there to maintain peace. The army men also flag-marched in various areas.

Fleeing their homes in panic, thousands of Bodos have taken shelter in relief camps set up by the administration in five places, the sources added.

The state cabinet on Saturday met in Guwahati to review the situation in Udalguri and Darrang districts. Home Minister Rockybul Hussain has rushed to the disturbed areas.

Trouble started on Thursday after a group of people belonging to the minority community allegedly stole some cattle from the Bodo-dominated Mohanpur village. The villagers attacked them and clashes followed.

The violence then spread to Darrang district, where over 30 houses were burnt down and several injured at Besimari and Balabari villages, under Dalgaon police station prompting the police to fire in the air to disperse a marauding mob and the district administration to impose indefinite curfew.

Three kinds of Muslim responses to never ending Islamic atrocities:- Muqtedar Khan

Posted by jagoindia on October 4, 2008

For full article by Muqtedar Khan go here

There are three kinds of Muslim responses to these never ending atrocities. Some Muslims condemn, oppose and actively reject the Jihadis and their agenda of global anarchy. I wish they would be better organized and more effective.

Another minority, unfortunately, appreciates and supports the Jihadis. I pray that this Ramadan may open their eyes to the true reality of the Jihadi phenomenon. It preys on the weak and the helpless, has achieved absolutely nothing of value for Muslims, and has pushed a large number of people in the world to despise Islam and hate Muslims.

And then there is a significant Muslim population that lives in denial. They also are intellectually dishonest. They first deny that there is such a thing as jihadi terrorism, resorting to conspiracy theories blaming every act of Jihadi violence either on Israel, the U.S. or India. Then they argue that unjust wars by these three nations (in Palestine, Iraq and Kashmir) is the primary cause for Jihadi violence; a phenomenon whose very existence they have already denied.

Unless Muslims wakeup to the culture of terrorism in their world and act to eradicate it, they may find themselves isolated and shunned from the rest of the world, while also being the biggest victims of the very phenomenon they do not fight.

4 Indian Mujahideen men held in Mangalore

4 Indian Mujahideen men held in Mangalore

4 Oct 2008, 0343 hrs IST,TNN

MANGALORE/AZAMGARH: In a well-coordinated move, police and security forces in two states raided houses of terror suspects and busted a support cell o
f Indian Mujahideen in Mangalore arresting four of its members on Friday.

The special forces nabbed Mohammed Ali (56) from Mukkacheri, Ullal, a real estate agent; Javed Ali (20), a student of Ullal Quranic College; Naushad (25) from Subash Nagar, Pandeshwar, a construction worker; and Ahmed Bava (33) from Haleyangadi, Mulky, a petty shop owner. They also detained six others for questioning.

The arrested men may be taken to Mumbai on Saturday for questioning, IGP (Western Range) Ashit Mohan Prasad and SP Satheesh Kumar said.

The first to be picked up were Mohammed Ali and his son Javed, from whom police seized computers, two mobile handsets and material on jihad. Based on information given by Javed, Naushad was arrested. Naushad led the cops to the house of Riyaz Bhatkal, against whom the Mumbai police have issued a nation-wide alert. Five grenades and improvised pipe bombs were seized along with 12 mobile handsets, SIM cards and jihadi material at Subhash Nagar. Riyaz Bhatkal was away at the time of the raid.

Naushad also led police to the house of Bhatkal’s accomplice Mudassar (24), where a laptop, a hard disk, Rs 11.39 lakh in cash, five mobile handsets, passports, CDs and jihadi material were recovered. Ahmed Bava was also picked up on Naushad’s information. Prasad told TOI that intelligence had zeroed in on IM presence in Mangalore after a month-long investigation. He added that bombs for blasts in other places in the country may have been supplied from here.

The police are now busy tying up loose ends like the banks used for cash transactions, where did the funds come from and flow towards, etc. Prasad said experts would analyze the computer hard disks. He hoped a lot of information could be gleaned through analysis of documents seized.

Kumar said electronic photo identity cards (EPICs) were used as identity proofto procure SIM cards. The police also seized three passports belonging to Yasin Haji Razak Pothwala (55), Mafusa Yasin (53), both from Gujarat, and Syed Mohammed Irshad (55) from Koondapur. Kumar said they have to verify if these passports were genuine. One EPIC is in the name of Raj Gangwal (19), whose address has been listed as B-606, Sangam Vihar, New Delhi.

Meanwhile, Mumbai Police led by API Crime Branch Nand Kumar Gopale cracked down on the house of Abu Rashid son of Akhlaq Ahmad in Sanjarpur, in Azamgarh district of UP on Friday. However, no arrest could be made as Rashid proved untraceable.

Sanjarpur was earlier raided by a team of Delhi police and the district police on September 23 in search of Delhi blasts suspects. Official sources claimed that Mumbai team had wanted to interrogate Rashid in connection with Mumbai train blasts on July 11, 2006. The man, it is suspected, had planted bombs on the local trains that left a trail of destruction. Rashid, who originally belongs to Sanjarpur in Sarai Mir, seems to have covered his trail well.

The Little Secret about Kashmir and South Asia

Posted by jagoindia on October 3, 2008

The Little Secret about Kashmir

There is a little-known secret of South Asia. You ought to know this one if you want to understand the escalating religious conflict in Kashmir, pitting two new nuclear-armed nations – secular India and Islamic Pakistan – against each other.

This is the secret: from every newly-formed Muslim majority area of South Asia – without exception – including Pakistan, Bangladesh and in India’s own Kashmir, non-Muslims have been massively cleansed and driven to Hindu-majority India.

It is for the above reason that Pakistan is at least 97% Muslim and India is at least 15% Muslim.

Besides implying the inability to co-exist, it may be reasonable to interpret these data as a form of conquest in the name of Islam.

The scary part is that the religion-based passion for conquest never stops!

Muslim-concentrated areas in nearby non-Muslim lands are singled out for further conquest…… to read rest, click here

In Northeast the same frightening scenario is repeating. While Muslim Bangladesh is exterminating Hindus from its lands, at the same time it is busy populating Assam and other parts of North East India with Bangladesh Muslims. Read rest here

3 Hindustan Aeronautics Muslim employees held for terror plot

3 HAL staffers held for plotting Id blasts
By Our Special Correspondent
Bengaluru

Oct. 2: Bomb blasts that could have wreaked havoc during Id festivities in Karnataka on Thursday and the Dasara festival in Mysore through this week might have been thwarted at the last minute with the detention in Bengaluru of three key employees of Hindustan Aeronautics, a major defence establishment.

Aziz Subhani, son of Mohammed Kabeel, is a Grade 2 officer working with HAL’s Light Combat Aircraft division; while the identity of the other two has not been disclosed.

A crack team arrived here from New Delhi on Wednesday and took the three HAL employees into custody for questioning, police sources said. The Intelligence Bureau and the Delhi police had tipped off the local police and state intelligence officials about the trio’s alleged links with the banned Simi and their possible involvement in bombings.

“We received an alert from the Delhi police to be extra vigilant during Id and Dasara… Late Wednesday, the Delhi police team arrived with definite information about the three men. Allowing them to continue working at the defence establishment could have proved costly,” a state official told this newspaper. Their houses were raided, and CDs, microprocessors and materials on bomb-making seized. Sources in HAL confirmed all three had worked with the organisation for three years in different divisions. “Aziz is a Grade 2 officer … the other two are workmen in the helicopter division.” It is not known where the arrested men are being held. Police sources confirmed they were being questioned since Wednesday.

Delhi Police detains 3 HAL staffers in B’lore
3 Oct 2008, 0610 hrs IST,TNN

BANGALORE: Delhi Police is probing if SIMI has infiltrated into the defence hub HAL, with three of its employees recently being detained. Those detai
ned, it is suspected, were planning serial blasts on Ramzan-eve in Bangalore and during the ongoing Dussehra celebrations in Mysore.

One of three detained is an officer with the Aircraft Research and Development Centre (ARDC). The other two are members of the ground-level staff with the HAL helicopter division. A fourth person was reportedly picked up from Udupi.

Intelligence sources said the officer, working with HAL for three years, was identified by a Hubli medico, Asasulla Basha, who was arrested at Honnali. A raid on the officer’s house yielded a large number of CDs and money.

The officer collected details of sensitive installations in Bangalore and documents on ARDC activities and transferred these to SIMI in the last three years. The IB tipped off Delhi Police.

One of the three HAL employees is said to be close to Afzal Usman, arrested for stealing four cars in Mumbai and exploding them with terror cargo in Ahmedabad on July 26. Usman is said to be a lieutenant of jailed ganglord Afzal Ansari, now lodged in a Mumbai jail.

Terror strikes Tripura: Bangladesh Muslim terrorists (HUJI) suspected

Posted by jagoindia on October 2, 2008

Agartala’s turn to be hit by terror
2 Oct, 2008, 0155 hrs IST, ET Bureau

NEW DELHI: Terror struck Tripura’s capital Agartala on Wednesday evening when five bombs went off within 5 minutes in crowded market places and a bus
stand. Two persons were confirmed dead.

Most victims were shopping on the eve of Eid ul Fitar, deputy inspector general of police Nepal Das told agencies. “At least two of the blasts were powerful,” Das said, adding that the serial explosions were the first such attacks in Tripura.

The first blast went off at Radhanagar bus stand at around 7.30pm. Both the men who died were hit by this blast. Explosions in the other places followed in quick succession.

The other blasts were at the popular Gol Bazar and near-simultaneous blasts at the GB Market. The police official said that timer devises were used to trigger the explosions.

According to senior home ministry officials here, Tripura’s two main insurgent groups, the National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) and All Tripura Tiger Force (ATTF), do not have a history of carrying out bomb attacks on civilians. However, they did not rule out a possible link between these two outfits with Bangladeshi terror groups like Huji.

“Tripura has a long border with Bangladesh and intelligence agencies point to the presence of senior leaders of both NLFT and ATTF in Bangladesh,” a senior MHA official told, indicating that NLFT and ATTF may have offered logistical support to Huji.

Synchronised serial blasts are, however, new to Tripura, though there have been explosions by Ulfa in Assam in both 2006 and 2007. The Agartala attack rebuffs the theory that terror is unleashed only in places affected by communal disturbances. The Left-controlled Tripura has no history of communal conflicts.

Police sources, quoting eyewitnesses, said two persons riding a motorcycle were seen moving suspiciously at Radhanagar bus stand and the blast took place there three minutes after they left the area. Central intelligence agencies had on September 25 warned northeastern states of an impending terror attack and BSF officials here confirmed having received the input. The state was on alert for possible attacks ahead of Durga Puja and Dussehra.

“Some of the injured are in critical condition,” Mr Das said. There was chaos after the blasts. People were out shopping when the explosions occurred. Many of the wounded were women. The Agartala is the latest in a series of terror attacks on different cities, starting with Bangalore more than a month ago. More than 125 people have been killed in total by recent blasts.

Last week, the Army had killed at least seven heavily armed militants of Huji in a gunbattle on the Assam border.

Agartala’’s hit by terror, Islamic militants suspected

Agartala, Oct 2 (ANI): Terror struck Agartala, the capital of Tripura on Wednesday evening when five bombs went off within 30 minutes in crowded market places and a bus stand.

Two persons were confirmed dead and about 76 injured in the five blasts of which at least two of the blasts were powerful.

The injured were taken to the nearby hospital. According to sources in the hospital some of the injured are in critical condition.

The first blast went off at Radhanagar bus stand around 7.30 P.M. Explosions in other places followed in quick succession.

The other blasts took place at the popular Gol Bazar and almost simultaneously at the GB Market.

Central paramilitary forces have been deployed in Agartala and a red alert has been sounded in the state. A National Security Group (NSG) team has reached here to investigate the blast areas.

Most victims were out shopping on the eve of Eid ul Fitar and for the coming Durga Puja.

Police officials suspect that timer devises were used to trigger the explosions.

Tripuras two main insurgent groups, the National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) and All Tripura Tiger Force (ATTF), do not have a history of carrying out bomb attacks on civilians, however, a possible link between these two outfits with Bangladeshi Islamic fundamentalist terror groups like Harkat ul-Jihad-e-Islami (Huji) has not been ruled out by security agencies.

Tripura has a long border with Bangladesh and intelligence agencies point to the presence of senior leaders of both NLFT and ATTF in Bangladesh and they may have offered logistical support to Huji.

Meanwhile, eyewitnesses said two persons riding a motorcycle were seen moving suspiciously at Radhanagar bus stand and the blast took place about three minutes after they left the area.
